The Park Diner, located adjacnet to the Conklin Ave.-High St. intersection on Binghamton's Southside, has always been a local favorite of mine. The food is quite good for very little money, super friendly wait-staff, and a great dining room. Yeah.. we have eaten at diners when we are on the road, but some are hit and miss. Believe me, I have frequented this diner enough times to know that the food is delicious, the way you want it. The relaxing view of Rock Bottom Dam and downtown Binghamton (minus the State Building) from the clean and comfortable dining room makes a trip to this eatery well worth it. ***1/2 Stars!

Park Diner, always a good place to bring the parents to show that Binghamton has a prettier side. Plus, you can watch debris tumbling in the dam! How many times have I cheered for that 40 gallon barrel to roll free, finally?
ReplyDeleteIf you're lucky, before the water level drop to it summer low point, you can watch the Binghamton fire department practicing shoreline water rescues just below the dam as you eat a burger and fries and sip on a iced tea. One other point is that the Park Diner has a four table enclosed eating area which is open during the warmer months.
ReplyDeleteI like the decor of the place as well with local artistic legend Anthony Brunelli prints hanging on the walls. Jen and I always try to sit in the room over looking the water for a scenic lunch. The food is good but not in my top 3 for diners in the area (Broadway dinner FTW!!) but overall food+ambiance=really good diner.
ReplyDeleteIf you like coconut cake, make sure you try the Park's - it's fantastic!
